SUNDAY/THURSDAY KNITTING WORKSHOPS - GIFT GIVING 101
Gift Giving 101 - what could
that possibly be, you ask? It's anything you would give as a gift -
bags, hats, scarves, or even socks.... How does it work, you might be
asking? Well, we're combining our Sunday and Thursday Knitting
Workshops and these are the October dates:
Sundays, Oct 4 and 18, 1-4pm
Thursdays, Oct 15 and 29, 6-9pm
Each workshop is $10 or pay for the entire month of October and it's only $30! So, what do you get for your $10? Well, aside from the the obvious benefit of knitting with friends, you'll have access to hundreds of patterns in our library, our expertise in fixing those pesky holes and other "oopsies", as well as help in finding that perfect handmade project for your someone special!
Does it get any better than knitting for others? Oh, and remember
gifts can be for yourself too!!! Feel free to bring yarns/projects
from home - you do not need to purchase your yarn here for this
workshop.
Knitting/Crochet Nights!!! Wednesdays 5:00-8:00pm
If you already know the basics (cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off/chain, sc, hdc, dc) come join us to knit/crochet and ask questions. Learn a new stitch or get a quick refresher. Come once or make this a part of your weekly schedule. Get help or get motivated to complete new or continuing projects. This is a great opportunity to escape from the real world for an hour or two, knit, chat, and be inspired by the creativity of others! Be sure to bring your knitting tools with your or you can purchase yarn & supplies from the shop. Please keep in mind: Knit/Crochet Nights are not substitutes for regular classes! For example, if you need to learn to knit or crochet, please sign up for Knitting I or Crochet I.

Knitting I & II
Learn to knit! This is a 2-part class for beginning knitters. We’ll cover how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off. We will also be discussing different types of yarn, needles, and the basics of how to read a pattern. Once this class is complete, the beginning knitter will have all the tools they need to make their own scarf…just in time for the cold California winter and they make great gifts too!
Skill Level: Beginner
Class Size: 6
Prerequisites: None
Class Fee: $25/class or $45 if both classes are paid in advance

Knitting - Beginner Project I
If you like to make things and feel ready to start designing your own pieces this class is for you. Hats are one of the most fulfilling garments to experiment on: they’re quick, beautiful, and make especially great gifts. In this class you’ll learn the basics of hat design, knitting in the round, knitting with circular and double-pointed needles, and ribbing. The class will cover yarn and stitch selection, and pattern planning. An adult version will be knit during the class in worsted weight yarn.
Skill level: Advanced Beginner. To get the best out of this class knowledge of knitting with circular and double pointed needles is important, but not required.
Class Size: 6
Class Fee: $25/class or $45 if both classes are paid in advance
Supplies: Students should bring their own supplies. Please bring the following: bulky yarn (gauge from 8-10 stitches to the inch) One 16” circular needle and 1 set of double pointed needles in size 9, one crochet hook, stitch markers, and one tapestry needle. Yarn may also be purchased at Dabble.

Knitting - Textured Patterns
This class is a follow on to Knitting I & II. You’ll learn how to make the most commonly used stitches. These stitches in patterns can be used to add texture and design to sweaters, hats, scarves, socks, and gloves. You will make a scarf using the following patterns:
1x1 Ribbed Stitch, Seed Stitch, Cable Stitch, and Decorative Slip Stitch.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Class Size: 6
Prerequisites: Knitting I & II or a basic knowledge of knitting
Class Fee: $30
Supplies: Please bring your own or you may purchase yarn at Dabble before class. We’ll be using a US Size 7 Knitting Needle

Sock Workshops
Have you ever been intimidated by knitting socks, but really want to take your knitting to the next level? Well, here's your chance! Our 2 week sock workshop is the perfect way to learn how to construct a basic sock. The first week will cover knitting a complete "mini" sock and the second week will cover how to pick out a sock, how to size it for your foot, different ways of knitting the sock (toe-up or cuff-down), types of yarn, and how to start your first sock!!! Cost is $25/class or $45 if they're paid together. Price includes materials for your "mini" sock.

Crochet I
Not only is crochet fun to learn and faster than knitting, it is very hot in the fashion world right now. With four basic stitches, you can make an infinite variety of projects in a short period of time. Crochet is the perfect choice for that last-minute baby or birthday gift! In this class, you will learn not only the basic crochet stitches and edgings, but you will also learn about gauge, yarn weights and correlating hooks, crochet tools, reading basic crochet directions, and the wealth of information available on yarn labels. Crochet is invaluable as an embellishment for knitted or woven projects, so come and join us to see what crochet can do for you!
Crochet II
Once you have mastered the basics, you will surely want to expand your knowledge of this wonderful and relaxing craft. In this class you will concentrate on the following: learning intricate new stitches, reading patterns, reading crochet charts, increasing and decreasing (shaping). You will make several mini-projects such as floral motifs, filet lace, and advanced crocheted blocks. We’ll also share with you the very special magic loop technique for starting a ring...no knots!

Beginner Project: Amigurumi!
Do you want to learn to crochet? Or do you already know the basics but want to move on to the latest craze? Come try Amigurumi, the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures! In this two week course, you will learn how to create your ring, single crochet, increase, decrease, embroider faces, and sew all the parts together! You will choose your own pattern for this class. The photographs are only samples of the types of things you can choose from! Amigurumi is also a great stocking stuffer!
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner or Intermediate
Class Size: 6
Class Fee: $50 for both classes
Supplies: Amigurumi pattern, choice of yarn for the project, 4 or 5 (E, F) crochet hook, darning needle. Yarn may be purchased at Dabble before class. If you need help choosing the pattern or yarn, please contact us before class. (Simple cupcake pattern will be provided for beginners.)
Supply Fee: $5.00
Supply Fee includes stuffing, safety eyes, stitch-marker, and embroidery needle.

Crocheting - Textured Patterns
This class is a follow on to Crochet I & II. You’ll learn how to make the most commonly used stitches. These stitches in patterns can be used to add texture and design to sweaters, afghans and ponchos. You will make swatches of the following patterns:
Shell Stitch, Ripple Stitch, Cable Stitch and Raised Puffball Stitch.

Supplies: Please bring your own or you may purchase yarn at Dabble before class. We’ll be using a 5, 6, or 7 crochet hook
This class is offered one-on-one or in a party setting. Please call the shop for details.
Pattern Reading (Knit or Crochet)
This class is perfect for all skill levels! As long as you already know basic knit or crochet stitches and you're trying to figure out a pattern, this is for you! You can either bring your own pattern or let our experts help you start a new one. This is a 2 hour one-on-one lesson in how to read your pattern. We'll help you through the complicated parts, so that you can get back to what you really want to do - KNIT or CROCHET for FUN!!! Please allow our staff at least 1 week before the lesson to study the pattern. Complicated patterns may require more time.
